Haysboro Senior Resources Group

There are many senior social groups in our city, but our group focuses on information and is unique in this area. We attempt to have programs that deal with issues pertaining to seniors, and extend a warm welcome to any who may wish to join us. We meet the fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 1:30pm, followed with coffee and cookies, at the Haysboro Community Centre.

Haysboro Community History Book

Copies of the Haysboro Community History Book, “Haysboro Reflections 1958-2008; A History of Haysboro Community Calgary” are available at the Haysboro Community Centre Office (403-253-1563 or e-mail info@haysboro.org). When ordering, please indicate “Haysboro History Book” in the subject line.

This beautiful hard-cover book contains information on Haysboro and our current and former residents, and also contains a family history section along with facts about the growth and changing demographics as we look back over the last half century.

Snow Removal/Lawn Care Program

This is an affordable snow/lawn care program for seniors in the community. Clients pay a basic rate, Haysboro youth shovel snow and receive their pay through the Association. Similarly, during the spring/summer season, adults are hired to care for yards and again clients pay a basic rate, with the Association contracting a field supervisor and providing/maintaining the equipment. This past season there were over 50 clients. For more information, please contact Pat at 403-463-3903 or Jack at 403-252-6534.

There are approximately 18% of seniors living in their own homes, and we endeavor to make it as comfortable as possible, for as long as possible, for them to remain in their homes.
